Michael spent his school years in Dallas and his summers and holidays in New Orleans. After watching his wife practice yoga for six years while he fine-tuned his golf game and ran long distance races, he decided it was time to see what yoga was all about. He was hooked from his first class.
Michael originally kept going for the physicality of the practice, but over time, yoga has made him a much more personable, selfless, loving, and patient man. One of his favorite quotes is “A transformation unshared is useless”, so after finishing teacher training, he knew he needed to share yoga with others.
Being a “YES” is what got Michael involved in YMU. His SEVA project during teacher training was working with Zach at Tahoe Park and he fell in love with the park, community, and the selfless service. After teacher training Jodi asked him to be a part of Maidu Park as an assistant and a teacher. There was no hesitation as he quickly said “YES”. He loves giving his love and support while connecting with the community.
