Dear McKinley Park Yogis,
We hope you might consider joining us for a very special volunteer day on Friday, September 11 from 9:30 am to 1 pm in the McKinley Rose Garden. (At H and 33rd Streets, 95816)
We know that a Friday volunteer day is unique – but September 11 is the National Day of Service and Remembrance. Here in the Sacramento region, as part of the United Way’s Annual Day of Caring, we’ll be one of 37 volunteer projects that morning. And people in more than 150 counties will also be observing the day by volunteering in their communities.
Our projects that day will include weeding, raking the leaves, deadheading roses and spreading mulch. No experience is required as experienced rosarians will be there to teach volunteers how to dead head roses.
The check in will be at the benches in the garden, which is at the corner of H and 33rd Streets. Come and help for as long as you can.
If you have garden clippers, shovels or rakes that you could bring with you that would be a big help. Also, please bring your garden gloves and be sure to wear closed toed shoes.
And as a special treat, thanks to United Way United Way California Capital Region we will have lunch, water and snacks for the volunteers.
R.S.V.P.s are requested as it helps us in ordering the lunches but last minute drop-in help will also be appreciated.
Again, thank all of you for your all your help in McKinley Park.
Let us know if you have any questions.
Much thanks and warm regards,
Friends of East Sacramento
